Madam Curie was born in November 7, 1867 in Warsaw, Poland. Madam Curie name was Marie Sklodowska and latter popularly known as Madam Curie. She was the youngest child of her parents. She was an intelligent with sharp mind. Her father was professor of Mathematics and Physics. Her mother was a pianist, singer and teacher. Her childhood spent with full struggle. There was financial struggle in her family. Her father has lost his job when Curie was 6 years old. Curie lost her mother when she was 11 years old.
In the age of 16, she passed high school. She got gold medal higher education was not allowed to girl in Poland. She was interested to study science. Her relatives also knew that she could do very well is in her study if given chance to go for higher education. She went Paris with her sister in 1889 AD and admitted in Sorbonne University there. physician 1893 A.D. Madam Curie also got scholarship from She studied math and physics and became first graduate in Poland to study mathematics because she is bright future of Poland. In 1895, she got married to Professor Perry Curie. There was laboratory of Perry Curie at his home. They brought 10,000 kg of Uranium from the country called Behemia. Madam Curie, Perry Curie and professor Wikwral did long experiment of Uranium. At last, one night of November 1898, radium was discovered. Radium is used to treat cancer patients, nowadays. In 1904, she was appointed as a chief assistant in laboratory of Perry Curie.
Madam Curie was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, the first person and only woman to win twice, the only person to win twice in multiple sciences, and was part of the Curie family legacy of five Nobel Prizes.
In 1906 AD her husband Perry Curie died. After the sudden death of her husband, she devoted to complete the work in the scientific field which Perry Curie had started. She established ‘ Curie Institute in Poland 1914 AD. Madam Curie was awarded by a Nobel Prize in physics with Perry Curie and Wikwral in 1904 AD. Similarly, she again won Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1911 AD. She proved to whole universe that women are also capable to achieve the great success if they get chance and work continuously.
Madam Curie died on July 1934 AD France. To honour her, the chemical was named as ‘Curium’ and the radio wave was named as ‘Curri’
